The Performing Arts: A Study in Three Parts

Back in October, attending the wedding of our friends Dan and Lee, I watched a few of the younger guests gathering around the equipment we had set up for the musical portion of the celebration. (It involved me sitting in on keyboard to accompany the estimable Mr. Tim Johnston on "The Way You Look Tonight" and the inimitable Mr. Greg Hohn on his rendition of "You Are the Sunshine of My Life.") These youngsters' actions, captured here as digital images, seem to me a beautiful and pithy re-enactment of the three main stages of a project for anyone involved in the performing arts.

1. Preparation

2. Performance

3. Audience response.
