Love at First Sight

I came across Catch-22 at a young and impressionable age and never got over it.

My friend and fellow writer David Abrams, author of the novel Fobbit (soon to be published by Grove/Atlantic), first read Catch-22 on a flight to Iraq for his first tour of duty. He hasn't gotten over it, either.

This week David is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the book's publication at this blog, The Quivering Pen, and he asked me to provide a guest-blog post.

I'm still digging out from under the pile of papers I put off grading during production week, but I couldn't miss the opportunity to say a few words on Yossarian's behalf. Enjoy.
